The concept map details three concepts in information systems; social engineering, knowledge management and diffusion of innovations. To have a better understanding of information systems, it is imperative to take into consideration its three critical components, hardware, software, and data. With this, information systems can be defined as a combination of hardware, software and communication networks to collect and disseminate useful data, particularly in the organizational settings. Notably, hardware refers to the physical component of the information system while software entails the set of instructions that inform the hardware what to do. The third component, data, is a collection of facts that are useful to a business entity.
To better understand information systems, the concept map details the three integral components that are vital resources in today’s business world. In information systems, social engineering is a form of deception used to manipulate individuals to divulge useful data for fraudulent purposes.
