For this discussion board, think of a moral argument that you or someone else you heard use in the past week. Break the argument down into its premise(s) and its singular conclusion. Explain why it is a moral argument, i.e. be sure to include and label both a descriptive and a prescriptive premise (see page 291 in our text).
Example Argument:
P1 (Prescriptive premise): People who aren’t in poverty ought to help those in need.
P2 (Descriptive premise): There are many people who live in poverty in Uganda.
Conclusion: Therefore, people who aren’t in poverty ought to help people in need in Uganda.

Although the prescriptive, descriptive, and conclusion parts of the argument are well presented, the argument cannot be appropriately classified as amoral argument. In particular, a moral argument has to be associated with some form of moral premise, which is absent in the argument as presented.
