Abu ‘Ali al-Husayn ibn Sina is well recognized in Europe as the founding father of Islam philosophy. His Latinized name Avicenna is even more popular in Europe for his contribution towards philosophy in the Islamic Golden Age. Having existed between c. 980 and 1037, Avicenna’s work influenced famous philosophers like Thomas Aquinas (Gutas, 2016). His most famous literature’ ‘The Canon of Medicine’ was a compilation of five books published in 1025 and it had a significant impact on the field of medicine in Europe and among the Islam community.
