One of the most important roles of literature has always been the education of the paper’s audience on some of the most important moral concepts in the society. Although it may take the audience a close analysis of the situations in the literature to understand the virtues the author may have intended to communication, assimilating the behavior of some of the most notable characters in the literature may often result to adoption of qualities considered virtuous. Parenting is one of the aspects covered by Harper Lee in his novel To Kill a Mockingbird, in which case contrasting the parenting approaches by Atticus Finch, Bob Ewell, and Walter Cunningham. Ultimately, the contrasting approaches explain the success and character in the parent’s children.
