In a business environment, the two aspects named, power and politics affect business culture in similar and different ways that can either be positive or negative. As the aim of any business organization is to maximize its productivity, power, and politics, which mainly affect the management of the organizational structure, play a major role.
Power
Power can be defined differently depending on the situation and environment, or an area of reference. In a business environment, power is the ability to influence the performance of the employees by the management, or by an employer to do a task or improve an outcome in an organization either by with-holding a reward, that could be either promotion, salary to perform task that they would not otherwise do.
