They come into contact with intense situations where they have to help, and the scenes they come across can have adverse effects on their emotions. One can ensure that information about mental health issues get availed to the first time responders through having Psychological First Aid where their mental health gets emphasized on and assessment done to ensure they are in the right place emotionally. One way of ensuring that information is available to the first time responders is ensuring that there are personnel on call to help the continuously assess their mental health state and help them learn how to do the assessment themselves(Vernberg,2008).
