            The integumentary system is a system of organs which is made up of the skin, nails, exocrine glands, nerves as well as hair. The primary function of this system is that it acts as a barrier to safeguard the body from external destruction. The system also helps in retaining the body fluids, hindering the body against the diseases, regulating the body temperature and also excreting the waste products from the body after metabolism. To achieve this noble role, the integumentary system works close to other methods of the collection to maintain the internal conditions which the body requires functioning appropriately. This essay dwells significantly on the various types of glands as well as accessory structures as part of the integumentary system. An organ is made up of several cells of the body of an animal which are specialized to synthesize substances like the hormones for discharge into the bloodstream or for excretion. There are two main subdivisions of glands which comprises of endocrine and exocrine glands. The endocrine glands are responsible for the secretion of the substances that circulate within the bloodstream. On the other hand, the secretion products of the exocrine glands occur through a duct onto an outer surface of the body like the skin. The exocrine pancreas which is part of the integumentary system is further subdivided into three subgroups. These subdivisions include the apocrine glands, the holocrine glands and the microcline glands.
