The Arab region has been dominated by successive waves of extremism and radicalism, which reflected on various aspects of individuals’ public life, and created confused inter-group relations and shaped suspicion, anxiety and distrust among them. Extremism, which was painted religiously by using religion as a cover for all its practices and activities, fought all the meanings of normal life and turned Arab societies into rival groups against each other, expanding divisions of conflict, struggle, and tension.
