In the raging bull film, boxer Jake LaMotta was portrayed as an everyman for whom the ring becomes an allegory of life in several ways. First, LaMotta was a middleweight champion, and as you know, heroes are celebrities who are vastly known. For example, Mayweather who is also a boxer is known worldwide because he is a champion who has never lost in the ring.
