At Hefty hardware, the partnership between IT and the business is active but not satisfactory for most of the departmental heads. However, IT plays a crucial role in the business because it helps to harness security issues regarding debugging and preclusion of computer viruses. Cheryl, the VP of retail marketing, asserts that IT has helped to manage Hefty’s business information by preventing viruses and this has enhanced its functioning. IT has also improved Hefty’s business operations in all the hardware and other systems because of its reliability and cost-effectiveness. As result, the business can close their books by the end of the month in 24 hours unlike before when it took days. Glen, the COO, also notes that IT has played a role in the supply chain logistics and the assortment of products in different stores.
