This expedition was a sad occasion that got a lot of media coverage in many newspapers. Tally, therefore, takes up the chance to create a compelling play that seeks to capture the occasions that were documented in the letters and journals found written by Captain Scott. In this play Tally explores both the heroic and the tragic themes that the story of the Terra Nova brought about. The play was named Terra Nova following the name of the ship that Captain Scott and his crew had used for their expedition (Cardullo, 2018).
