           The onset and development of Film Noir genre played a vital role in the development of the science fiction (SF) genre. According to the reading “A Brief History of Science Fiction” the films the explored the science fiction genre were rare in the United States before the 1950s. The popular SF film at the time was the “Things to Come,” which was produced in 1936.
