Ethical Issues in Patient Safety
Abstract
A large proportion of the American population continues to suffer as a result of medication errors. Medication errors occur when a patient experiences harm as a result of medication that was prescribed by a healthcare provider. One of the major causes of these errors is the fact that many people are taking medicines for various diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. The consequences of medical errors may lead to emergency cases as well as hospitalization of patients.
