Hyatt Hotel was founded in 1957 by Jay Pritzker when he purchased Hyatt House Motel in Los Angeles. In the next ten years, Pritzker together with his brother and other family members who had great interest in the industry built the company into a hotel management company that would become listed in 1962. Within the next five years, Hyatt international was established as a separate corporate entity. In 1982, the companies were taken private by the family. In 2004, the two companies were consolidated into the Hyatt Hotels Corporation as the company is known today. The exemplary performance and success that the corporation has experienced over the decades could not have been possible without having a great foundation that dictates the manner in which various operations and activities are undertaken.
