Impressionism is not a lesser form of painting compared to realism. Realism sought to relay the objective vision of various aspects in contemporary life. Most of the images that were painted in the art movement have been compared with those from impressionism. Critics suggest that impressionism is a lesser form of art although this is not true. The two movements were different and each has certain attributes that are unique thereby one cannot assert that impressionism is a lesser form of art than the latter.
