This weeks reading was all about Evolution and Creationism and which one is right. Shermer then goes on explain a debate he had with a creationist-scientist and went into to detail on how he was not there to debate the differences of evolution and creationism but there to understand them and how their beliefs affect them and other people. Shermer then went on to talk about how he compared creationist to Holocaust deniers, based on the facts that both parties find and use errors of historians as proof that they are wrong, both parties usually miss quote people and even claim that when in debate with scientist or historians the act of debating is proof of their inability to get their stories straight. Next Shermer then went on in the text to explain and answer twenty-five different creationist arguments with the true of the matter with evolutionary facts that creationist ignore or refuse to even look at. I believe that we can teach both evolution and creationism but like Shermer himself said we can’t call or teach creationism under the title of science but we can do so under the title of religion and history.
