Now is the time to pick your topic and your classmates will help. This speech is about a myth or misconception that you want to disprove. I have provided a list but would really like you all to be creative and chose something relevant to you. As an example, one student talked about the common belief that drinking coffee at a young age will stunt your growth because she grew up with her mother telling her that it would. On Thursday with your original post, talk about your topic choice, what exactly is the myth, and why you would like to create a speech about it. On classmates’ responses help each other to think about their topic by asking questions that you might like to see answered. You will find that this is very helpful in focusing on the direction your speech should take.
