classmate’s reasponse ( I believe that Gothic style, specifically Gothic architecture, coincides more with my personal preference and style. I am continuously in awe of the beautiful Gothic-style cathedrals included in Chapter 12 of the textbook. The cathedrals which I personally find stunning include Laon Cathedral in Laon, France, Chartres Cathedral in Chartres, France, and of course, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. It is particularly sad and a bit painful to view the beautiful photos of Notre-Dame today, since this past Monday, the cathedral caught on fire and led to the eventual collapse of the spire and the oak roof of the cathedral. According to French authorities, the cathedral was only fifteen minutes away from likely structural collapse. Luckily, both of the beautiful towers of the cathedral were spared. Many people across the world were incredibly saddened by the Notre-Dame fire, and it has reminded me this week of the importance of preserving the beautiful historical monuments in our world for generations to come. We must appreciate these structures and their beauty while taking care of them for future generations.)

Romanesque style, mostly the great innovation Roman architecture, which incorporated the use of concrete in the construction of the Roman Empire, best fits my personal preference and style.
