Socioeconomic Status of Hispanics and Asian Americans

Marginalization of different communities in the United States was largely a result of perceptions of country of origin as having a significant factors on the quality of immigrants and their impacts on the national economy. Therefore, there has been significant challenges in the country associated with different groups of immigrants, which may actually not have occurred were it not for the perception of immigration associated with the different immigrant groups. Notably, while Latinos and Hispanics have much of their ancestry in the United States, with most of them having some relation to the Native Americans, they are in the contemporary American society viewed as immigrants. On the other hand, Asian Americans did not receive much recognition in the country in terms of citizenship until the twentieth century legal developments that abolished origin as a basis of awarding citizenship to an immigrant.
