Writing Question
I’m working on a writing Essay and need a sample draft to help me understand better.
Please follow the prompt and make sure you use the film Split(2016) and no plagiarism, use the articles I linked plus more if you want. Also, make sure you do your diagnosis, not just according to cliff notes or anything, And use the articles to support my diagnosis and give examples from the DSM.
Students will write a paper about a fictional character (from a movie, TV show, or book of their choice) who displays symptoms of a diagnosable disorder according to the DSM-5 (Spring semester only). This assignment will serve as an exercise in looking at clusters of symptoms within a social context. The paper should include a brief description of the main plot of the movie or book but focus primarily on one of the fictional characters, the cluster of symptoms presented, the rationale for why you believe symptoms meet the criteria for a DSM-5 disorder, and a discussion about differential diagnoses. It should also include an examination of how social factors related to the character’s race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, age, and/or religion may have had an impact on the development and or maintenance of the symptoms/disorder, and/or how they impact treatment and prognosis. This paper should include no less than three (3) references to peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles that support your thesis and be between 6-10 pages in length.
Here are some of the articles you can use. And you can even use your own! Please do the essay in a psychologist’s point of view like I am diagnosing the character and give examples that support my statements!
