Ch 12 Subject Filing Assignment

1. Jerry wants to organize the documents by subject. COMMUNICATIONS, MANAGEMENT,
and TECHNOLOGY are the main subject categories he wants to use. 2. List each of the document names under one of the main categories.
After you classify each document under one of the three categories, you notice that the COMMUNICATIONS category could be further broken down into two subcategories. So you create two subcategories: CORRESPONDENCE and TELEPHONE. Place the document names in the appropriate subsections of the file.
3. Repeat this process of sub categorizing for each of the remaining two major subject classifications. Choose subheading captions that you think are appropriate. 4. Now organize the filing sections, subsections, and filenames in correct alphabetic order. Place the main section captions in order first. Within each main section, place the subsection captions in order. Then place the document names in each subsection in order.
5. The final document should contain three (3) main categories, each with two (2) subcategories. Each of the document names below should be organized within one of the six (6) subcategories.
