Think about your community. Identify what you believe is the most serious social problem in your community. Explain your choice – include in your discussion what makes it a social problem (i.e., versus social condition), what makes it a “serious social problem” (i.e., look at the subjective vs. the objective reality), and which of the sociological perspectives outlined in the textbook best fits your understanding of the social problem. Do social class, race, or ethnicity play a role in this problem?
Use the readings for this module to support/help develop your posts (you may also include other outside professional references, such as recent journal articles) and provide examples to illustrate your points. Be sure to provide the appropriate APA-formatted references and citations for the material that you access. Refer to the HSA Style Guide for assistance with writing guidelines, APA formatting, citing, and referencing.
