The research topic in the case of the course article is that most American citizens think that the government monitors their communication patterns. The focus is mainly on the people of America who have different views about how much control the government should have on its people as well as those from other countries. The research also weighs the validity of the information by involving different types of people based on their gender, age or even level of education. The question to derive from the whole research is whether or not the government has a right to monitor the phones and emails of American citizens.
