Why did Munich switch and why does it matter?
Linux in Munich (LiMux) was a project by the city of Munich in Germany to migrate local government software systems from Microsoft products to Linux. In total, the project affected 18,000 computers. City officials have recently voted to migrate their services back to Microsoft products by 2021.
