Introduction

Annie Leonard is an activist in the United States who is keen on sustainability and criticizes consumerism. She took it upon herself to look at materials economy which deals with how resources are consumed from the minute they are harvested or rather when they start being exploited. She started by travelling around the world to track the track that garbage followed. Her first video she covered the story of stuff which was basically a rundown of how resources are harvested to how they end up being disposed off. Consequently, she even wrote a book on the story of stuff after the animated documentary about the life cycle of material goods.
