Consider how Technology enhances the lifestyle of elderly adults. In my own extended family, there are 5 generations most in and around Oklahoma but others in other states. Ages ranging from 72 to 5 months old. On any day I can log into Facebook and know exactly what is going on in my family. In fact, we recently had a wedding in New Mexico, most of our olders could not attend but they were not going to miss the action. The call went out OKAY WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!!.. Suddenly anyone who made the trip was posting pictures so no one felt left out. Now getting my mom and my aunt’s Tech-savvy was not easy but we did it. Why because they asked? My mom would ask how do you know Kati is having a baby? Mom we have a family group on Facebook – and we were off. So with this in mind watch the video, Read Chapter 12, and answer the following questions.
1. In what ways can personal technology enhance seniors’ personal lives? How does the data support this concept?
2. How can new technology enhance and monitor seniors’ health? What are some of the websites that can aid senior health?
3. What types of technology or websites can enhance elderly safety and allow them to grow old at home?
