The Affordable HealthCare ACT
Part One: Summary of ACA according to President Obama
Introduction
The Affordable HealthCare ACT commonly referred to as Obamacare was signed into law back in 23rd March 2010. Since its inception, this act has gotten various views from the republicans as well as the democrats. According to the democrats, they believe that this act on health reform will help in eliminating discrimination that currently exist, expand health insurance coverage to approximately 32million more Americans and provide a tax cut in health care especially for the middle class. They believe that the Affordable Care Act will end abuses from the worst insurance companies (Sommers, Buchmueller, Decker, Carey & Kronick, 2012). On the other hand, the republicans believe that the Affordable Care Act is not about healthcare, however, its impact on the nation health is disastrous. Many ordinary Americans don’t know what it does and why there are some people who it reformed. For this reason, this paper will focus on providing a summary of the ACA as written by President Obama and also give an update on its current status according to President Trump.
