Prompt. First, briefly describe what a GMO is. Next, describe in as much detail as possible (a solid paragraph each) specific arguments presented by three different anti-GMO proponentswho you met in “Food Evolution.” You many not recall their names, but you should be able to describe them and their views. In addition, consider the following: what is the source of their beliefs? what group do they speak for? whose opinions are they attempting to sway?
Finally, watch the TED talk by Pamela Ronald. Was she successful in addressing the arguments of the anti-GMO proponents? Be specific.

Food Evolution
People often possess dissenting views on the importance of GMO products to the contemporary society, in some cases to the extensive opposition of any efforts to highlight any positive consequences of GMO products. In particular, Genetically Modified Organisms primarily include organisms to which a genetic alteration has been made to improve the product’s resistance to natural detractors to its success. GMO plants include plants to which there has been some alteration in their genetic make-up, with the intention of improving their resilience to harsh climatic conditions, or resistance to diseases.
