Tragic Hero

Compose a short (2 to 3 page) essay presenting the argument that Dr. Faustus is or is not a tragic hero. Explain your position by referring to specific criteria in the definition and citing specific details from the play.

According to Ornstein, a tragic hero is one who arouses both our sympathy and fear since he is neither good nor is he completely evil but instead a combination of both. The tragic impact, however, will be influential if the hero is superior to us. A hero as such experiences a series of emotions from happiness to depression due to his bad choice which is as a result of his judgmental error.
