Getting around the Roman Empire was a chore mostly because of difficult transportation and the lack of safety along the roads. As a result, roads across the Empire were mostly routes used by military convoys in times of war. Imagine what a male traveler from Rome to London would have endured during his trip. Where would he have spent the night? What about eating? What type of transportation would he have likely used and why? What about using a passenger boat? Write a two-page short essay describing the results of your findings.
