Six months have passed since Mr. Gregory Baker was admitted to the Emergency Room. He is planning to return to school next week. His symptoms have been well managed since being prescribed Haldol, but Gregory has shared with you he believes his schizophrenia has resolved, he is “cured”, and no longer needs to be on this medication. You have consulted with the psychiatrist who is prescribing Gregory’s Haldol and disagrees, stating “Gregory will quickly become psychotic if he stops taking this medication; he needs to keep taking his medication as prescribed.”
