classmate response ( King Tut’s unremarkable contributions to ancient Egypt definitely surprised me. Firstly, I had no idea that King Tut died at only 18 years old, and I also was not aware that his death may have involved foul play. Clearly, he did not have much time to make contributions before he passed away at such a young age. Regardless, I think that Howard Carter’s discovery of King Tut’s tomb is definitely remarkable and deserves the recognition and attention that it has received. King Tut and his tomb have provided a further glimpse into the mummification process and the ways in which Egyptians honored loved ones after death, particularly pharaohs. In this sense, King Tut still plays an important role in the history of ancient Egypt and our understanding of their culture today.)
