Introduction
In the past few decades, different films and television shows have been produced that depict different gender roles, gender identities, and gender stereotypes. The depiction of gender on television and other forms of media tends to have a huge impact on the society. This is mainly because they create certain notions about a given gender that people associate with. Gender roles that are depicted in films and television shows have the ability to influence the stereotypes and perceptions that people at the societal level develop towards a given gender. The aim of this essay is to identify a popular television show today and assess the manner in which such gender roles and stereotypes have been depicted by the director through the characters. The television show that I selected for this essay is Dynasty.
