Discussion 1: When should you use the Mean and when should you use the Median?
Mean and median are two important statistical measures that are used in complicated statistical situations. In the first post, the peer assesses the use of mean and median for cancer patients where a new drug has been invented that increases survival of the patients. Mean is used to calculate the average increase in survival of the cancer patients. The median of the new drugs at enhancing survival is eight weeks. The mean and median are open to change depending on the number of people who are used in the study.
