A witness is a who is put under oath to testify in a trial. A witness could be a defendant, a plaintiff or any other person involved in the trial. Witnesses present first-hand information that is important to the case. There are different types of witnesses who play different roles in a case, (Brodsky, Griffin, & Cramer, 2010).
