Family and relationships form the primary basis of the story in Louis Erdrich’s Love Medicine, which makes the concept an ideal case analysis in the research herein. Therefore, the topic of the study herein will be “family and relationships,” intending to exemplify the role of family in determining the relationships between the different characters in the story. In particular, the relationships between Lulu and Marie are highly intertwined into family, which makes it possible to understand the roles of the different characters in the story. Therefore, the roles of the different characters and their relationship to Lulu and Marie will form an integral part of the story that advances further understanding of the topic of research as herein identified.
