USA Patriot Act
Question One
The United States USA Patriot Act is a law that was passed in 2001 and was meant to strengthen the country through providing appropriate tools that are required to combat terrorism. It was signed into law by President Bush in the same year (Savage, 2009). Many people thought the USA stood for United States of America but instead stood for Uniting and Strengthening America. It did this by providing several tools that could help deter and obstruct any acts of terrorism from taking place within the country. In the act, there were several provisions that were included that provided certain powers to law enforcement officers and intelligence officials so that they would deter any form of terrorism in the country.
