1. Study Exhibit 6.2 on page 139 and Exhibit 6.3 on page 142. Give one or two clear examples of times when you have employed the rational decision-making process in a work-related situation. How “rational” was the process and was it as clear and easy as it looks in Exhibit 6.2?
2. Study Exhibit 6.4 on page 149 and give one or two examples of times when you have gone through the stages of the creative process model (intentionally or unintentionally) to develop excellent/wonderful/exceptional solutions to organizational problems. Do you remember experiencing a form of “cognitive ecstasy” as described by Jason Silva in the first video when the epiphany hit you?
3. Drawing upon the videos listed in numbers 2-4 above (e.g., Ken Robinson, David Kelley [you really need to study IDEO and the Design School at Stanford], and Tim Harford), how do you envision developing your own personal creativity and the creativity of the people you work with?
4. Drawing upon the videos listed in numbers 5-6 (Jason Silva and Leo P), discuss creativity and originality as it relates to differentiation, competitive advantage, and creative value (personally and for organizations).
