Naturally, people will always evaluate the chances of the potential outcome of a competition based on the qualities of the participants in the said competition. Consequently, David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell seeks to evaluate the reality in this relationship, and whether people are right to evaluate the chances of success based on evaluation of potential in the different participants. In essence, Malcom questions the popular understanding of issues, providing alternative views based on research and interpretation thereof. Consequently, one could view the author as highly informed and highly willing to question the status quo on a number of issues.
