Developing Cultural Sensitivity and Competence
Diversity is an important part of society, playing a critical role in advancing interests of the public on an array of issues. However, these cases of diversity often create the basis of the development of new culture, which exemplifies the development of changes in culture within society. Notably, no culture develops on one day and everyone decides to adopt the practices on the next. On the contrary, it would take one person daring to be different and adopting a subculture or counter culture, to influence the other people into adopting the said practices based on his or her resilience (DeConick, 2016).
