Q: First of all, you need to watch at LEAST 35-45 minutes of this documentary to get the main issues. All of it would be ideal. That said, discuss the gendered dynamics of women in sports that the video identifies. What do you think of these? In your own personal experience, would you say the documentary is accurate or no? Explain why or why not. Discuss what your opinion is of whether or not sex sells women’s sports more than athletic competence. Remember to be respectful.

According to the video presentation, 40% of all athletes in the United States are women and they receive 43% of the college scholarships. These aspects imply that the interest in female athletes is increasing enormously across the U.S. However, the story in the media coverage is different as the women’s sports get just 4% of the entire sport media coverage. These findings show there is danger discrimination when it comes to covering the female athletes.
