The definition of organized crime widely differs from one country to another and thus, there no universal definition that has been adopted. However, it is worth noting that the organized crime networks engage in many types of criminal activities across the world in order to obtain directly or indirectly a financial or other material benefits. For instance, thy actively engage in trafficking humans, illicit goods, unlicensed weapons and drugs, armed robbery and money laundering (Abadinsky, 2012).
