The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Blue Dye #6 should not be used in any product to avoid the risk of such a public health issue.

Scientists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have found that all food products containing Blue Dye #6 might be a great threat to human beings following an experiment with lab rats. The spokesman of NIH said, “While we can’t be absolutely sure Blue Dye#6 is the cause, we do not want to take chances.”

Blue Dye #6 is a food color additive used mostly in candy including blue starbursts, blue M&M’s, lollipops and gumballs.
