Tectonic Evolution of the Region of the North American

            The position, size, and shape of North American have witnessed immense changes over the past billion years. For this reason, the continent is one of the oldest in the universe, with the oldest rocks being situated in northern Quebec and being around 4.3 billion years old (Miller, Grantz & Klemperer, 2002). Consequently, the Upper Midwest region contains some of the rocks believed to be the oldest in the world.
