Raison D’état is a concept that entails various governments in different City-States taking actions which are based on the national interests and most of the time, the actions are against the code of justice. Apparently, the concept stipulates that the State assumes that the national interests are prime regardless of the situation in other Countries. On the other hand, realpolitik is practical politics which are based on the policy and power more than ideals (Afolayan, 2018). Ultimately, the notion of realpolitik advocated for relationships formed on the basis of power. The City-States that were seen to be strong politically and economically are the ones that prevailed. According to the realism, the State is considered the chief player in transnational relations.
