McCarthyism in the US

The United States has experienced periods of significant influence on its history, one of them being the rise of McCarthyism in the 1950s. The cold war had just begun in 1947 and there was a strong conviction among the people that communist views held no position within the American society. Consequently, one was either aligned with the American idea of a capitalist society or was actively involved in the support of the Soviet communist ideas. Ultimately, people were highly likely to be suspicious of each other, something that led to the rise of the McCarthyism doctrine. The doctrine presented a position in which Americans were highly likely to accuse each other of different issues, in this case, the primary issue is a membership to the communist party, despite the absence of proof that one was actually in support of the party.
