Zhou Dynasty
The longest-ruling of China’s succession was the Zhou Dynasty (From 1045 to 256 BCE). It took after the Shang Dynasty and went before the Qin dynasty. The Zhou Dynasty is divided into two separate periods: Eastern Zhou (770-256 BCE) and Western Zhou (1046-771) (Violatti & Violatti, 2017).
Eastern and Western Zhou
The first segment of the Zhou Dynasty is the Western period. This was a time of relative tranquility. Around 770 BC, the Zhou king lost power over his various regions. Some of his lords revolted and seized the capital city. The Zhou king’s son fled towards the east and established a novel capital. The dynasty that ruled upon establishment of the new eastern capital is called the Eastern Zhou (Violatti & Violatti, 2017).
