Domestication refers to a selection process which is human-made, and which directs life evolution towards the thought of organisms to be useful to human beings. Human beings used their knowledge of heredity in this process to steer the efficiency of selection. This in return resulted in domestication being connected to genetics. Human beings began to domesticate plants and animals after the Neolithic revolution which took place 10,000 years ago where the revolution of agriculture occurred.
