Writing analyzing / evaluating essay (only do introduction and a paragraph)
introduction and the first body paragraph
There are two online articles. We need to write an analyzing/evaluating essay about them both. We have to determine and evaluate the argument of the author, claims, and evidences. We also need to know a little about the publisher, the audience that the author writes for, and the author’s background. We have to show whether the claim/argument of the author is effective, not effective, or in between. When the audience read that article, would it be persuasive for them? why or why not ?

Newsday columnists, Adam Thierer and Jennifer Huddleston Skees, critic the contemporary laws on artificial intelligence in the article “Technology makes our lives more interesting, convenient and safer” (2018) published in Newsday. They support their claim by first highlighting the difference between what was seen in twentieth century artificial intelligence films, then gives examples highlighting convenience presented by technology such as Siri and Alexa, and finally questions impacts of government regulations on artificial intelligence technology. The authors’ purpose is to highlight problems in putting caps on tech development using legal policies. They adopts an informal tone for the reader of “Newsday,” whose audience varies in intellect and age.
