SHADOW A LEADER Experience/Paper (100 points)
This experience can be completed at any time.
In order to enhance your learning experience and have a greater understanding of what being a leader entails you will shadow a leader in your workplace/organization. The leader that you shadow should be someone at the administrative level who you are interested in exploring/learning more about what his or her job entails. A person to shadow might be the Chief Nursing Officer or the Director/Manager of a department for your workplace, or a workplace that you are interested in. A Shadow a Leader Consent form/letter (Appendix D) Appendix D – Shadow a Leader Consent Form.docxPreview the document must be signed by the leader that you shadow; the leader will have an opportunity to add comments to the letter/form. You will write a two-page synopsis of what you thought about this experience, what you/leader did during the shadow experience, and what this experience might mean to you as a future nurse leader. The time required to shadow the leader is a minimum of 4-hours but no more than 8-hours; you should be able to get an idea of what a typical work day looks like for the leader you follow.
